Brown Sugar DKA (4pc)
Our signature item, the DKA (short for “Dominique’s Kouign Amann") is a smaller version of the traditional Breton pastry, which is similar to a caramelized croissant. A crispy, caramelized crust on the outside gives way to a flaky and tender crumb within. This version has a slight extra twist in that we use brown sugar, for a deeper, almost molasses-like flavor.
Named the one of the top 10 items in Time Out New York 100 Best List in 2012, and the “best pastry we’ve ever eaten” by Dailycandy.com, the Kouign Amann was cited in 2011 by the New York Times as the next IT-pastry!
The 4-piece box is the perfect sampler and especially recommended for out of town guests as DKA's tend to sell out and so it always better to reserve your order. (Note: The packaging may vary as we source the best containers for our products. But we promise it'll be equally delicious!)
Do not refrigerate as the humidity from the refrigerator will cause the pastry to get soggy and loose its crispy exterior. Store in a cool, dry place and best eaten on the same day it is baked. This pastry has a short shelf-life and should not be consumed after 2 days of purchase.
